Dear Parents,

I know it seems as if summer has barely begun, but it's already time to put certain things in place for next year.  One of the first things that needs my attention is our budget for next year, which means having a handle on what our major fundraisers will be.  I feel extremely grateful for the dedicated group of parents who've committed to helping and know we are going to have a terrific year, but there is still one gap to fill.

Every year the boosters run a lemonade stand each weekend of the Underwood Farms Harvest Festival.  Last year this event raised an amazing $8000 in profit for our music program.  Money raised benefitted the strings, jazz, concert, marching, and color guard programs.  That's a lot of lemonade that translated into a lot of music! 

While a number of people have expressed willingness to help with the event or even to take charge of a full day or weekend, we still have no "go to" person to chair the event.  If we do not have someone to oversee the lemonade stand we will have to remove $8000 in spending from our proposed budget.  If you are willing to consider taking this on, are willing to be part of a committee to run the lemonade stand, or are at least willing to get more information, please let me know ASAP! 

This is a great event for orchestra or jazz parents as many of our marching band parents are already volunteering at competitions each Saturday in October.  It is a pleasant atmosphere to work in, you will get to know a lot of other people in the program, and we have all the systems and details figured out - we just need someone to run with it!
