2010 Winter Drumline Show titled: "FLUX" by Bill Garcia
Winter Drumline
Winter Drumline is an exciting activity that takes place on a gym floor and brings to life the visual interpretation of their music through complex and unique forms called "drill", a lot like what the Marching Band does during first semester. The elements of rhythmic music and a high energy visual package create a powerful & enjoyable experience known as Winter Drumline. The Winter season brings the elements of the Marching Band percussion ensemble to the gymnasium. It includes marching snare, tenors, and basses as well as the full instrumentation of a concert percussion ensemble and various electronics. This ensemble also provides a unique opportunity for non-percussion instrumentalists to experience a unique performing and competitive ensemble.
The Drumline is open for all to audition for and is a pay-to-play program. Auditions take place at the beginning of December each school year. It is a pay-to-play program and not part of the regular school schedule.
Winter Drumline is under the direction of Bill Garcia. The front ensemble is led by Bill Garcia the battery tech is Justin Burks and visual and cymbal tech is Scott Plambek. The Winter Drumline is a part of the Southern California Percussion Alliance.
Please look for MHS Winter Drumline information as we approach December. December is when the audtions will take place and the 2011 Winter Drumline season will begin.
